70000 Britannia at the head of The Lakelander
13th April 2024

(Preston - Carnforth - Shap - Carlisle - Appleby - Settle - Hellifield - Blackburn).
The train is seen on climb to Grayrigg passing Paddy Lane, Scalthwaite Rigg on the West Coast Mainline.
The trip started and finished at Leicester with D1935 (47805).
Steam came on at Carnforth and sadly had to come off at Carlisle apparently with a hot big-end.
47805 was on the rear while Britannia was on the front and single handled for the rest of the day.
